The Sauk County Children's Giving Tree is dedicated to addressing the diverse needs of children and families in Sauk County.
The Sauk County Children's Giving Tree is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in 1985. It began as a project to provide Christmas gifts for a small group of teen parents and their young children.
Our Mission
Over the years, the organization has grown from helping just a handful of children to aiding more than 675 children and 250 families at Christmas.
The Giving Tree has expanded from helping children at Christmas to assisting families throughout the year.
We Provide:
Christmas Gifts: We provide Christmas gifts for approximately 250 families every year. We give each child two items of clothing, plus socks and underwear, one toy, as well as art supplies.
Back-to-School: We provide assistance for back-to-school clothes for families with school age children living in the Baraboo School District.
Spring Break Fun Bags: We provide “Fun Bags” with activities for children during spring break.
Emergency Needs: We partner with other local agencies in providing assistance to families for special circumstances. Assistance is limited. Requests are reviewed by the Board of Directors and are kept confidential.

Area residents can help the Sauk County Children’s Giving Tree in a variety of ways. Please consider the following opportunities to help:
Make a donation to the Sauk County Children's Giving Tree.
Mail checks (payable to SCCGT) to PO Box 70, Baraboo, WI 53913.
Select a tag from one of the many Christmas Giving Trees in the area and purchase the suggested gift for a child. Churches, banks, local businesses and service organizations have Christmas Giving Trees on display in November.
Donate supplies for our Spring Break Fun Bags in the form of crayons, coloring and activity books, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, playdoh, puzzles, books, and games.
HOW TO SEEK ASSISTANCE
Families contact us directly or are referred to the Giving Tree by local agencies, social workers, clergy and teachers. Families then complete a Financial Application for review. Families need to reapply annually for assistance. Giving Tree families remain anonymous.
